Apple’s long-rumored 15-inch MacBook Air could arrive soon

The processor in Apple‘s upcoming 15-inch MacBook Air will be “on par” with the company’s existing M2 chip. Bloomberg claims that Apple has started testing the laptop to make sure it is compatible with third-party App Store applications, something the company does before releasing a new product.

Developer logs provided to the outlet reveal the computer had a chipset with an eight-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and 8GB of RAM. According to those specifications, the 15-inch MacBook Air, code-named “Mac 15,3” in the logs, won’t come with Apple’s newest chip as some earlier sources had said, but rather an M2 chipset. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, “bigger changes to the Mac will come later with the release of an M3 chip.” MacOS 14 was seen on the next device, which Apple is anticipated to introduce at WWDC 2023.

The 15-inch MacBook Air has a display resolution that is “equal” to that of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, which is arguably the most intriguing fact disclosed by the logs. This indicates that the display on the updated MacBook Air is less dense. When Apple will unveil the new laptop is unknown. At WWDC 2022, the firm unveiled the M2 MacBook Air. The 15-inch MacBook Air is expected to be released between late spring and this summer, according to a prior report by Gurman.
