New renders give us our first glimpse at the impending OnePlus tablet, which will shortly make its long-awaited debut. After that announcement, OnePlus posted a teaser of its future tablet on its website and then shared a render of its own with TechRadar.
The OnePlus Pad is depicted in leaked renders as being black, however in OnePlus‘ official renderings, it is Halo Green. It will be made of high-quality metal with chamfered edges, and the back will have a circular camera cutout to match the OnePlus 11 that will be released soon. As would be expected, the bezels are thin, but unlike some other Android tablets, there are no notch or camera cutouts on the front.
Specs
As for the specs, the OnePus Pad is expected to have an 11.6-inch display and likely a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Nothing else was shared about the device other than what is immediately visually apparent. Thus, it could have a single camera like most tablets, or a double camera like an iPad.
A cutout on the left side may indicate the presence of a stylus if OnePlus chooses to include one, or it could simply be a vestige of an older prototype, which is where the renders are based. After all, this is the company’s debut tablet, so it’s difficult to have too high of expectations.
Over the past few years, OnePlus has expanded the scope of its product offering. Instead of just selling phones, it now now sells smartwatches and wireless earbuds. Now is a better time than ever for a startup to enter the market because Google has been focussing on tablets with Android 12L and Android 13, and it has also recently laid the groundwork for any Android manufacturer to build their own Apple-style hardware ecosystem.
On February 7, the OnePlus Pad is anticipated to be released alongside the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus Buds Pro 2.
