Special edition Casio G-Shock Frogman

New colors for the deadly poison dart frog have inspired Casio to release a new variant of their Frogman G-Shock that genuinely looks like a frog.

The G-Shock Poison Dart Frog Frogman special edition, also known as the GWF-A1000APF-1AER, was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Frogman watch series.

The Bluetooth-enabled watch, which will be available at the beginning of February, can be connected to an iPhone or an Android device using the Casio G-Shock Connected App to automatically modify the time regardless of the time zone. When paired, the watch can also be used to locate your phone, and it also has tide point settings and dive logs.

The deadly amphibian that lives in the Amazon rain forest served as inspiration for the design. Its bezel, which is sculpted to mimic the hues and patterns of frog skin, is composed of multicolored carbon and fiberglass. To emphasize the look, a semi-transparent urethane substance is placed on top.

The iconic Frogman character may be found on the back of the watch on all Frogman models, however this one features the body dots of the specific species.

The new G-Shock also has Tough Solar, a solar-powered charging system from Casio that works with most types of light sources. Without regular access to light, the battery lasts for five months, and when the power conservation mode is activated and the device is placed in complete darkness, the battery lasts for thirty months.

This diver’s watch has an ISO 200M water resistance rating and a corrosion-resistant casing to keep out salt water. On the face is a depth gauge that records dive time and depth.

Even when Bluetooth connectivity with a phone is not present, radio-controlled timekeeping is still in use. This maintains the watch’s accuracy.
