Google has genuinely and formally stated that their fabled foldable phone is real. Google has declared that the Pixel Fold is imminent after it surfaced in a number of leaks. It won’t be long before you can spend some money on it because the phone will be formally unveiled on May 10.
We currently only have a sleek teaser video to enjoy. I didn’t hold out much hope for the Pixel Fold’s design, but after seeing the slick metallic sides and the two-tone metal-glass finish on the back panel, I’m beginning to change my mind. Although it’s not really shocking, the video makes the entire bundle seem alluring.

But the potential for a gapless design, based on the symmetry of the edges and the hinge style, is what really attracted our eye. It appears that the Pixel Fold will use the no-gap design of the Oppo Find N2, in contrast to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 with its V-shaped wedge between the two parts.
The design not only makes the phone seem better but also prevents liquid and dust from getting stuck between the two halves. The forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to feature a similar design, according to leaked renders.
A banner has also been placed on the Google Store in preparation of the launch. Naturally, Google is only ready to share that information at this time, storing the specifications and UI walkthrough for the first day of its I/O developers conference the following week.
Unfortunately for Google, leaks have divulged practically all of the information regarding the Pixel Fold. For its foldable phone, Google is reportedly intending to charge roughly $1,700. That’s a significant sum of money, especially for a first-generation foldable phone bearing the Pixel brand.
However, reports indicate that Google will include the Pixel Watch as a bonus with the Pixel Fold, which seems a little more agreeable from the viewpoint of the customer. The phone will apparently be powered by Google’s Tensor G2 chip, with content being displayed on two OLED panels with 120Hz refresh rates.
According to rumors, the back’s main camera will have a 64-megapixel sensor and will be accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 5x optical zoom lens. Other rumors, on the other hand, indicate that the phone will have a 48MP/10MP/10MP camera arrangement. Within the next few days, we’ll learn more about the imaging hardware’s specifics.
On the software front, Android 13 will be in charge, although it will be interesting to see what large-screen enhancements Google may be working on just for the Pixel. The Pixel Fold is reported to go on preorder by the end of May in the United States, although it is unlikely to see a widespread international release.
