Brand’s first indoor pizza oven
With the introduction of its first indoor device, Ooni has increased the selection of pizza ovens it offers for 2023.
The Ooni Volt 12 is an all-electric oven with a cooking area of 13 inches that can accommodate pizzas up to 12 inches in diameter, hence the name. It offers manually adjustable heating options as well as automatic heat settings in case you just cook the same kind of pizza every time. The internal baking stone has a turbo mechanism that can be used to increase the temperature between pizzas.
Ooni asserts that the oven can cook a Neapolitan-style pizza in just 90 seconds and that it takes just 20 minutes to attain the ideal cooking temperature of 450 degrees Celsius (850 degrees Fahrenheit). You can see the procedure through the triple-paned borosilicate glass door thanks to an inbuilt light.
The Volt 12 can be used outside if there is a convenient outlet nearby, and an optional cover can keep it clean while being transported from the kitchen to the garden or while being stored. The steel shell has a powder coating to help it resist the elements.
All of this technology does have a cost, though. The Ooni Volt 12 costs $999, which is more than the most well-liked Ooni pizza ovens, such the multi-fuel Karu and Fyra models, which start at $299. It undoubtedly adds to the price with its versatility and user-friendliness.
Although the outdoor models will undoubtedly be hibernating throughout the winter, at least you’ll be able to use it during the less sunny months. Additionally, much like with the other Ooni ovens, you can swap out the baking stone later on to make sure it will last longer.
According to Ooni, the Volt 12 is currently only offered in a small number of locations.
The company recently updated the Karu 12 oven, replacing the original model’s removable metal door with one that has a glass door identical to the Volt 12. In addition, the Ooni Karu 12G is now accessible.
