Google Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a Rumored to Launch in June

This summer, Google might introduce its first foldable phone.

Google will reportedly unleash its much-rumoured, first foldable phone this summer. The Google Pixel Fold has allegedly popped up alongside the Pixel 7a mid-ranger on retailers’ databases as coming in mid-June.

So, it seems likely that both will be fully disclosed at Google I/O in May, as had been previously rumored, with on sale dates scheduled for a few weeks after. But given that the Pixel 6a wasn’t released until July 2022—despite being announced at last year’s developers conference—a that’s speedier turnaround than normal.

It appears that WinFuture and 9to5Google have seen the store listings. The former also confirms that the folding phone’s name, “Google Pixel Fold,” is in fact accurate.

According to the websites, the color possibilities have also been listed. Both “porcelain” (white) and “carbon,” which refers to black or grey, will be offered in the Pixel Fold. In June, official cases will once more be offered in “haze midtone”, “sky,” and “porcelain”.

According to 9to5Google, there will be two Fold models: 256GB and 512GB. Only the carbon color will be offered for the latter.

Along with “cotton” and “arctic blue,” the Google Pixel 7a will also be available in carbon. The term “jade” is included by WinFuture.

The same color cases will be available for that handset as well. It appears that the Pixel 7a is only available in a 128GB version in the listings.

Earlier leaks have revealed the mid-range phone in full view, and a developer’s prototype model has been widely documented in Vietnam. The matte-finished camera bar from the basic Pixel 7 will remain.

According to reports, the Google Pixel Fold will have a larger battery than most of its rivals. It will get slightly heavier as a result, but it might enable longer usage.

According to reports, it will also be thinner than others and use a hinge system akin to Oppo’s on the Find N2.

It appears that during Google I/O, we’ll know for sure.
