The company is billing the device as the perfect all-in-one solution for streamers
Two of the three items that Rode unveiled at the end of last year, the XDM-100 and XCM-50, were repurposed versions of previously released models. The Streamer X, its newest Rode X product, has a unique feature. It combines an external capture card with an audio interface.
The Streamer X supports XLR, line-level, and headset connections. A built-in Rode Revolution preamp provides all the power required. The gadget can simultaneously record and transmit video in 2K at 60 frames per second or 4K at 30 frames per second. Additionally, it provides video passthrough at up to 2K or 4K and 60 or 120 frames per second.
Four programmable buttons on the front of the console can be used to activate particular sounds and computer actions. You can simultaneously connect the Streamer X to two different PCs via a pair of USB-C cables. The device is completely compatible right out of the box with Rode’s software toolset, which includes Unify, Rode Central, and Rode Connect.
Separately, Rode also unveiled the Rodecaster Duo, a brand-new audio interface that combines all of the functionality of its Rodecaster Pro II with a more portable design. With Bluetooth connectivity, it should be able to provide power to even the most power-hungry microphones without the use of an in-line signal booster. Rode stated the Streamer X and Rodecaster Duo would be available in the coming weeks but did not provide pricing information.
