Microsoft may have just provided us with a brief, but hopeful, look of a potential Windows 11 gaming user interface (UI) intended for use with portable gaming devices. It might also be a clue that Redmond is now seriously considering portable PC gaming.
An experimental Windows interface from a hackathon organized by Microsoft internally back in September has caught the attention of the community for portable gaming devices thanks to a tweeted leak. The “Windows Handheld Mode” interface essentially replaces the standard Windows 11 desktop UI with a gaming shell or launcher.
