TCL NXTPAPER 11 – colour paper-like tablet

The TCL NXTPAPER 11 is a new tablet that uses the company’s upgraded NXTPAPER technology.

Based on the NXTPAPER 2.0 technology, which TCL unveiled as part of the ongoing Mobile World Congress event, the NXTPAPER 11 was created. TCL is now announcing a number of new items at that event, which is taking place in Barcelona. Yet, the NXTPAPER 11’s paper-like display makes it possibly the most intriguing.

According to a TCL press statement, the 11-inch NXTPAPER 11 will have a 2K display and guarantees customers high-quality images. AI will enhance those images to make everything onscreen appear clear and beautiful. Also, there is talk of an immersive entertainment experience, which is encouraging.

But having fun isn’t the only focus of NXTPAPER 11. TCL is adamant that there are numerous productivity features present as well. These features include a front-facing 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, four speakers, and two microphones. Even though it isn’t stated officially, it is obvious from the wording that TCL wants consumers to use the NXTPAPER 11 as some form of video calling device.

Reading was a given given that this was a paper-like display. Using a low-latency T-pen stylus, users will enjoy reading on a display that also allows them to take notes. A unique reading mode is also available, which TCL claims will replicate the precise grayscale effect of a paper book.

The tablet itself will go on sale in some regions starting in May 2023 with prices starting at $249. For that, you’ll get an 8,000mAh battery and a tablet that weighs 462g.

Other announcements include the TCL TAB 11, which is another 11-inch tablet. This one will start at $179 although there will also be an LTE version available should that be something you’re interested in. That won’t have the NXTPAPER display though, so keep that in mind if being kind to your eyes is a priority.
