A new line of displays from LG has been introduced, helping to reduce the requirement for projection rooms in movie theaters.
The LG Mirraclass LED screens may provide viewing experiences in resolutions of 2K and 4K with viewing areas ranging from 14 to 101 square meters. Because some variants are only five meters wide, LG claims that they are especially useful for the smaller-sized theatres that have grown in popularity in recent years.
These screens were made for movie theaters, therefore they have features that make them simpler for experts to use. Dolby’s Integrated Media Server is supported by every Miraclass display, ensuring, for instance, high-quality image and sound.
Technically speaking, LED pixels deliver 24-bit color processing and can produce 68.7 million unique color combinations. The brightness of the Mirraclass panels may also be changed in five distinct phases, ranging from 48 to 300 nits. Regardless of the surroundings or if 3D or 3D information is being exhibited, that need to guarantee the ideal viewing experience.
In the future, according to Paik Ki-mun, senior vice president and head of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company’s Information Display business unit, LG will continue to provide new lines and models to “accommodate expanding demand and the different requirements of movie theater companies.”
According to LG, the new displays are already in use in some places. Odeon Multicines theater in Vilanova, Spain, has added an LG Miraclass screen, and Madrid and Barcelona Odeon theatres will shortly add more as well. The next time you go to the movies, if you happen to be in Spain, there’s a possibility you might encounter one of these displays.
